Getting started

Set up a PartGrid workspace, prepare your catalog, and publish the first interactive parts experience without needing API knowledge.

Before you begin

Start with a product family, a representative manual or schematic PDF, and the parts data your storefront already trusts. The fastest path is to publish one polished collection before converting the full catalog.

Workspace

A company workspace with at least one admin user.

Source material

A PDF manual, exploded-view image, or schematic source file.

Parts data

Part numbers, product names, prices, and storefront identifiers where available.

1. Create the workspace

Configure the company profile first. This controls locale, currency, quote behavior, and integration settings used across schematics, collections, and embeds.

  • Add the company and confirm the default locale and currency.
  • Invite team members who will upload content, review diagrams, or manage quote requests.
  • Decide whether quote management is enabled for this company before publishing embeds.

2. Upload source material

Use manual upload when a PDF contains multiple pages that need classification, cropping, or BOM review. Use schematic upload when the diagram is already isolated and ready for detection and part linking.

3. Review and publish

After processing, review detected reference numbers, link parts, and confirm visibility. Collections let you package multiple public schematics into one embed or storefront experience.

  • Correct reference numbers and link missing parts before publishing.
  • Use categories to keep internal catalog structure aligned with your storefront.
  • Create a collection when customers should browse several related schematics together.

4. Connect the storefront

Start with the embed guide for iframe deployments. If you use Shopware, connect the store, sync native categories, then attach schematics to the category nodes that should become interactive parts pages.
