Set schematic crop and BOM areas
Select the diagram and parts-table regions that PartGrid uses for promotion and BOM review.
Set the schematic crop
The schematic crop defines which part of a Schematic or Combined page is used when the page is promoted.
- Open a Schematic or Combined page in the manual review workspace.
- Choose Crop.
- Drag the crop box or its corners around the complete exploded-view diagram.
- Check that labels and diagram edges are included.
- Choose Save Crop.
Use the suggested or full-page area
You can return to the suggested crop when it is suitable, or reset the selection to the full page. Cropping is non-destructive: the source manual remains unchanged, and only the selected region is used by the schematic workflow.
Set the BOM zone
The BOM zone defines where PartGrid reads reference numbers, part numbers, quantities, and descriptions on a BOM or Combined page.
- Open a BOM or Combined page.
- Choose BOM Zone.
- Draw one or more regions around the parts table.
- Add and order the columns in the same sequence as the source table.
- Set where the table data starts when headers or notes appear above the rows.
- Choose Save Layout to re-extract the BOM rows.
Use multiple regions and columns
Use Add Region when the table continues in another area of the page. Use Add Column to describe each source column. Keep regions tight enough to exclude unrelated notes, page headers, and footers while retaining every relevant row.
Reuse areas with presets
Presets let you reuse a crop or BOM layout on similar pages in the current manual. Crop presets can target schematic pages, combined pages, or any schematic page. BOM presets can target separate BOM pages, combined pages, or any BOM page.
Apply a preset to the current page, all matching pages in the manual, or a selected set of pages.
Quality checks
- Include the complete diagram and every visible number label in the crop.
- Exclude titles, borders, and unrelated diagrams when possible.
- Include all BOM rows and column headings needed to understand the layout.
- Check combined pages carefully so the crop and BOM zone do not overlap incorrectly.
- Review re-extracted rows after changing a BOM layout.
